I know that, as with every other blog I have set up, I will not be faithful to this one, but I wanted to be able to leave comments on other peoples blogs with my name associated. I will have to warn all onlookers, that I am terrible with grammer, spelling, and really just anything that has to do with conversation, so I really dont want to hear anything about that.
I thought maybe this blog could be a place where I could talk about 3 main things.
1. Music (My major in college)
2. Philosophy (My minor in college)
3. Stupid thoughts that I have. (Basically how my brain works)

So to fulfill(see I am pretty sure I spelled that wrong, and it is more worth it to me to type a sentence about how I am not good at that sort of thing, than to just research how to spell that word correctly) my first goal, I thought I would talk a little bit about my most recent music purchases.

By the way I should say that I am totally against music piracy. If it feels right to you, steal movies, clothes, cars, whatever, just not music. I love it too much not to support the people that I think do it oh so well.

Anyway, here are the three albums that I have most recently purchased, and a few quick words about each.
1. Chris Thile's How to Grow a Woman from the Ground- Chris Thile is one of the members of Nickel Creek. I am not even going to go into how upset I am that they are going to be taking a large break that I am sure they will never come back from. This album has a lot of bluegrass in it, and at first I was hesitant and I was only going to get it because he is my favorite musician at this point, but after I listened to it at least four times (By the way, Anthony Mako's number one rule is that you are not allowed to disgard an album before you listen to it at least 4 times. Some of the best albums are the ones that you have to dig deep into before it becomes a piece of art that is truely beautiful) I found that his genious is evident just as much through this style as every other style. He has beautiful melodies, and he is simply a great songwriter with nearly unparalleled musicianship. My favorite album by Thile is "Deciever" by the way. If you hate bluegrass you should still buy How to Grow... He is stud. In all of his music you can tell that he has had some sort of religious experience that has seemed to burn him over time, so it is also fun to relate to his spiritual journey.

2. John Mayer's Continuum- I also love this man. This album is much more like the JM3 peronality, and has a lot of blues influence. I have burned myself out on typing about "Chris the man" so I dont have as much to type, but I also highly recommed this album.

3. Last night I bought an album by the Mutual Admiration Society. It consists of Nickel Creek and Glenn Phillips. I can not say much about it yet, because I have not had time to adequately dive into it. Perhaps I will have more to say about it at a later time, but I am obsessed with Nickel Creek so I am sure that I will enjoy it.

My typed words on philosophy have been burned out by typing a comment to Chris Bean, so there will be none of that in this post.

Lastly I should warn that I sign off every post with the the words:
PEACE
MY JOHNSON
I have no explaination, but it really is a good example of how my brain works. I assure you that there is no inside joke, because I hate inside jokes with a passion. If things were really that funny, they would not be hidden in an inside joke.
I would like to see if I am as clever as I think I am, so let me know if you know why I have titled my blog "Dime River"
That is all for now.
PEACE
MY JOHNSON

Dude--I don't know why you titled your blog Dime River. I mean, I have no idea.

And I hope I'm not one of your "co-workers" who is encouraging overeating.
